What is Telehealth?
You might be wondering what telehealth is and how this could benefit you. Well we are here to answer all your Telehealth questions and book you in for your next appointment!
Telehealth, or also referred to as Telemedicine, is the use of ‘telecommunication techniques’ for the purpose of providing a health services over a distance. In simple terms, this means that we can provide your physiotherapy appointment with the use of video call or phone call in the comfort of your home! As we understand that there are many of you who might need to stay home during our current global situation, we have made a way for you to still have your appointment and keep your injury or pain on track, but from home! There is evidence to show that we are able to deliver the same great outcomes using our online video based consultation model which includes comprehensive home exercise prescription and monitoring
HOW DOES TELEHEALTH WORK?
Telehealth is quite simple, and we will help you every step of the way to set you up for your appointment. Here at Aspire Physiotherapy we use two different platforms for a video call, PhysiApp (also known as Physitrack) and Coviu. Both platforms are simple to use and usually only require you to open a link via your email and wait for us to call you on your mobile or computer/laptop that has a video camera available. We will send you an information pack on how to set everything up and make things easy!
Alternatively, we can also provide some appointments via a simple phone call on your mobile or home phone.
IS TELEHEALTH SAFE?
Yes! Both platforms are built around protecting the confidentiality and safety of our clients. Physitrack (PhysiApp) have both their audio and video streams encrypted and there is no audio or video recording! Coviu also has great encryption however also has the option to voice record, ONLY if you and the physiotherapist have chosen to do so with consent.
