What is Plantar Fasciitis?
There are many things that may cause heel pain. Symptoms around the Plantar fascia is one of the most common causes of foot pain. A term that is commonly used to describe this include plantafascialgia or plantafasciitis
This occurs when the plantar fascia, a strong band of tissue that supports the arch of your foot, becomes over-used, inflamed or irritated.
Signs and Symptoms
The most common symptom is pain in your heel when putting weight on your foot. Pain is usually worse in the morning,
lessens after 5-10 minutes but may return later in the day.

A thorough assessment is required, Plantafascialgia is based on history taking, risk factor identification and physical examination. Imaging is not always necessary but can also aid in diagnosis.
Risk factors for plantar fascialgia include:
• Excessive foot pronation
• Sedentary lifestyle
• Prolonged standing or walking
• Excessive running
• High arch
• Being overweight/obese
